Crisis boarding

A safe place for your dog when life falls apart

Sometimes the hardest part of a crisis is not knowing who will take the dog. We offer discounted long-term boarding for people going through hard times, so your dog stays safe, loved and cared for while you get back on your feet.

Safe Haven Boarding is not training, daycare or a standard board-and-stay. It is a short-term lifeline for families who need time to figure things out. Maybe you are entering rehab or a treatment program, an elderly owner has passed and the family needs temporary care, or a divorce or deployment has left the dog without a stable home. We are here to help.

Your dog lives at the Upperco facility with the same daily routine, playgroups and attention our training and daycare dogs receive. We keep them social, exercised and emotionally settled, and we keep you updated with photos or calls whenever you are ready.

How Safe Haven works

  1. 1. Call or message us as soon as you know you need help. We do not judge, and we move quickly.
  2. 2. Tell us your dog’s needs, dates, vaccination records and any behavior or medical concerns.
  3. 3. Drop off your dog with their food, medication and a few familiar items. We handle the rest.
  4. 4. Stay in touch on your schedule. When you are ready, your dog comes home, or we talk through rehoming options.

If the dog cannot return home, we can also talk about rehoming through the rescue side of Obedient BLUE. Every situation is private, handled with respect and kept between you and Lyndsey unless you choose to share more.

What it costs

Discounted, situation-based pricing

Safe Haven is priced below our regular boarding rate because the people who need it are already under enough stress. The exact cost depends on how long your dog stays, their size and any medical or behavioral needs. If you can pay something, we work with you. If you cannot, we still want to hear from you.

Not a rescue surrender

You keep ownership

Safe Haven is boarding, not a surrender. You remain your dog’s owner throughout their stay. If circumstances change and you can take them back, they come home. If you need help finding a new home, we can guide you through that separately.

Treatment & recovery

Entering rehab or a treatment program and need somewhere safe for your dog while you focus on getting well.

Loss in the family

When an owner passes away and the family needs temporary care for the dog while arrangements are made.

Life transitions

Divorce, housing loss, hospitalization or deployment. We keep your dog stable while you figure out what comes next.
