A day at the play yards

Dogs arrive between 6:00 and 9:30 in the morning, get a quick health and mood check at the door, and go out with the playgroup that suits them. Groups stay small and are sorted by size, age and play style, so a bouncy adolescent lab is never turned loose on a ten-pound senior. Staff stay in the yard with the dogs the whole time, reading body language and calling short breaks before anyone gets overtired.

Mornings are usually the busiest run of play. Midday is quiet time in crates or kennels with water and a chance to actually sleep, because a dog who plays hard for nine straight hours goes home wired instead of satisfied. Afternoons bring a second, calmer round of play, sniffing games and one-on-one attention before pick-up opens at 4:00.

When the weather turns, everyone moves into the climate-controlled indoor gym. Summer days mean misting fans, shade sails and wading pools in the outdoor yards. Winter days mean a heated floor and indoor games. Nothing gets cancelled for weather.

Before your dog's first day

  • An evaluation day comes first, so we can see how your dog handles the gate, the group and the noise before committing to a regular schedule.
  • Rabies, Bordetella and K9 Influenza must be current. Records upload straight to the Gingr portal.
  • Dogs need to be genuinely dog friendly. If your dog is not there yet, that is what our training programs are for, and daycare can come later.
  • Spayed and neutered adults settle into groups best. Talk to us about intact young dogs before booking.

Daycare questions

How much is daycare?

$40 a day for one dog, or $65 a day for two dogs from the same family. The rate is the same whether your dog comes weekly or occasionally.

Can my dog board overnight?

Boarding is an add-on we reserve for current daycare clients who come weekly. Because we see those dogs every week, we already know them and they are acclimated to their playgroups.

Can I book a half day?

Rates are full-day. You are welcome to pick up early, but the day is charged the same, and most dogs do better staying through the afternoon nap.

Does daycare replace training?

No. Daycare burns energy and builds social skills. Obedience, recall and manners come from a training program, and the two work well side by side.

What about holidays?

We are closed all major holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year. Everything else runs Monday through Friday.

The new dog yards

Two yards, split by size

We reworked the outdoor dog yards so the smaller dogs get one side and the larger dogs get the other. Everyone has more room to run, and a ten-pound pup is never lined up at the same gate as a ninety-pound greeter.

Both sides are going in with new pet-friendly turf. It uses an antimicrobial enfill and drains properly, so it rinses clean, dries fast and stays softer on paws, hips and elbows than bare dirt or concrete.

  • Separate yards for smaller and larger dogs
  • New pet-friendly turf with an antimicrobial enfill
  • Drainage built in, so the yards rinse clean and dry fast
  • Softer underfoot for a full day of play
