About

Since childhood, I have always been surrounded by dogs and other animals. My parents, animal lovers through and through, welcomed them into our home like members of the family. At one point, we had five dogs, all rescued from unfortunate circumstances. Out of my sister and I, I was always the one to play, tease, and shower our beloved canines with love. They were my friends, my confidantes, and my source of endless joy.

As I grew older and started leash-walking them, a need for training quickly arose. Being petite, handling multiple dogs at once proved to be a challenge. The jumping and pulling were overwhelming, and I knew I needed to take action. That's when I landed my first kennel job at sixteen, working at Grandma's House for Pets in Pennsylvania. There, I learned invaluable lessons about dealing with canine behaviors and working with multiple dogs in group settings. It was then that I realized my future lay in training dogs.

The turning point came in the form of one of our rescues, a goofy hound mix named Chance. I took him to my first training class, and I will always be grateful for what he taught me. He helped me excel in my senior year of high school in 2001 when I chose dog training as my graduation project presentation. My hard work paid off when I received a perfect score, allowing me to graduate that year.

Fast forward to 2007, when I graduated from ABC College and became a first-time dog mom to a yellow English Lab named Blue. He was my shining star, my Bluie, my Blueberry, my best friend. So much so, I started my own training business, Obedient BLUE "School for Dogs". In July of 2022, Blue crossed the rainbow bridge, but his memory will always live on. I will continue to train dogs, helping them live better lives to the fullest, and making keeping them in loving homes my top priority.
