Adopt a rescue dog or support our sanctuary dogs at Obedient BLUE, School for Dogs in Upperco, Maryland

Rescue

Adopt a rescue dog or support our sanctuary dogs

Two ways we help: adopt a rescue dog ready for a forever home, or donate toward the sanctuary dogs who live with us permanently.

How adoption works here

Every dog is evaluated, worked with daily and matched carefully. We would rather wait for the right home than rush a placement. Tell us about your household, your other pets and your experience, and we will be honest about which dog fits and which does not.

  1. 1. Send an inquiry through the contact page or call the school.
  2. 2. We talk through your home, schedule and experience level.
  3. 3. Meet the dog here at the facility, with your current dogs if needed.
  4. 4. Take-home plan, training guidance and follow-up support.

Nonprofit in progress

The rescue side of Obedient BLUE is currently funded out of pocket. We are working through 501(c)(3) nonprofit status so donations, grants and volunteer support can help cover vetting, food and care for these dogs. If you would like to help in the meantime, reach out and we will point you to what is needed most.

Bisquick is a loving, playful, and incredibly smart bully breed who is ready to find his forever home.

This handsome boy has a fun, energetic personality and adores spending time with his people. He is crate trained, knows some basic obedience, and is eager to keep learning. With his bright mind and enthusiastic spirit, Bisquick is sure to make training a rewarding and enjoyable experience for his future family.

Bisquick is currently enjoying life in a foster home, where he is receiving the love, care, and guidance he deserves while he waits for his forever family. He loves splashing around in his dog pool, playing with his toys, and relaxing on his cot when he is ready for a nap.

His ideal home: Bisquick would thrive in a home with a securely fenced-in yard where he can safely run, play, and burn off some of his energy. Meet Georgie!

Georgie is a sweet, middle-aged girl with a heart full of love and a personality that will make you smile. Her previous owners had health issues and could not take care of her, so she landed with us until she finds her forever home. She is perfect for someone who wants to skip the puppy and adolescence stage and simply wants a companion.

She absolutely craves attention and loves being close to her people. She is currently enjoying life in her foster home, where she has shown what a wonderful companion she can be.

Georgie is house-trained and crate-trained, healthy, playful, and wonderfully low-maintenance. She loves going for walks, playing, and spending quality time with her family. She is also good with kids and would make a fantastic addition to the right household.

Georgie would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. And there is one thing you will never have to wonder about with Georgie: when it is dinner time! This girl LOVES her food and will happily make sure you know when it is time to eat.

If you are looking for a loving, fun, easygoing companion who will adore you and keep you laughing, Georgie may be your girl!
